Workpackage 4

WP4 Training

Summary of WP4 Objectives and tasks

Efficiently implement the doctoral training programme to equip Doctoral Candidates (DCs) with essential skills for their research projects and future careers.

Task overview

Organisation of Network-Wide Events (Task 4.1)

Led by INRAE with contributions from IAV, CEVA, ULB, and ULIV, this task organizes five seven-day, on-site training events and one online job forum. These events provide interdisciplinary training in scientific fields (e.g., virology, biostatistics, systems modelling) and transferable skills, complementing institution-specific training. DCs gain exposure to non-academic stakeholders, enhancing their understanding of regulated disease management and improving employability. Each event is hosted by a different partner to ensure consistent, high-quality training.

Development of Personal Career Development Plans (PCDPs) (Task 4.2)

Led by IAV with support from INRAE, this task involves co-constructing and regularly updating PCDPs with DCs to align professional goals and objectives. Progress is tracked during network-wide events, ensuring integration, well-being, and early detection of potential challenges. Informal meetings with WP4 leaders offer personalized support to maximize the success of each DC’s project.
