VIVACE Researchers Present Their Work at International Scientific Events

Several members of the VIVACE doctoral network recently participated in scientific conferences and research events, highlighting the growing involvement of the consortium within the international research community.

In April, Sinda Srairi (DC13), whose research focuses on the economic burden of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), presented her first research directions during an event organised by the Roslin Institute for first-year doctoral and early-stage researchers. Her poster introduced the French duck production system and explored topics including breed diversity, surveillance strategies, responses to HPAI and vaccination, and the economic impact of the disease within a broader assessment framework.

More recently, the VIVACE network was also represented at the SVEPM 2026 conference held in London, with several consortium members participating in scientific discussions and networking activities. Sarah Pletts, the only doctoral candidate from the network attending the conference, presented a poster pitch and had the opportunity to discuss her work with researchers from different backgrounds. Consortium members Gerdien van Schaik, Wilma Steeneveld, Egil A.J. Fischer, and Timothée Vergne also contributed to the event, with Egil and Tim chairing scientific sessions.

These participations reflect the strong integration of VIVACE researchers within the broader scientific community and provide valuable opportunities for doctoral candidates to develop communication skills, receive feedback on their work, and build international collaborations early in their careers.
